Sector 42 is a developed residential zone located in the southern part of Chandigarh, famous for its spacious 4 BHK independent houses developed by city builders and popularly famous due to presence of Chandigarh Hockey Stadium giving the sector a recreational and green look. This sector is near to Sector 43, Sector 41, Sector 35 and other southern sectors of Chandigarh city. This sector provides people a comfortable and practical residential living style and easy access to markets, educational institutes, transportation services and Mohali. Resident reviews are quite mixed. First, this sector is very clean and very safe for girls to travel and walk even at night with availability of good market. Good transportation facility is always appreciated by people where buses or taxis are available after every 10 minutes, bus stand is available every 2-3 kms, clean and well maintained roads, good environment with fresh air and less pollution. There are ATM centers available after every 5 kms and no traffic jam in some parts of the sector. But on the contrary, this sector lacks entertainment options, less shopping and food option with traffic congestion in rush hour.
